Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - Dogs - Do They Need Much Care?
The breed tends to gain excessive weight. Therefore, a long daily walk is what can help to avoid this problem, especially if the dog is adjusted to apartment living. Appropriate choice of foods and feeding according to a planned schedule is still the basic treatment for obesity. It is a mistake to think that a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is hungry every time it begs for foods. Very often fussy eaters try to lure a piece of something out of their owners.
In terms of coat care, Cavaliers are not difficult to look after. They shed a little bit throughout the year. Yet, most shedding occurs in spring and autumn. The dogs need brushing at least once a week to remove matted hairs and distribute natural oils all over the coat. Excessive washing is not recommended to avoid dry skin. Trimming a Cavalier King Charles Spaniels is not allowed except the areas on feet.
